The Black Raven, once inhabiting the primordial forest, embodies the completion of the natural cycle; its robotic form hints at man-made origins and the rebirth of life in different conditions and forms.

The Beyond the Ark series is the central project of recent years, born from the question: what happens to those who were not saved? The robotic-looking Beasts are the rejected—those who had to recreate themselves in order to continue. Their bodies are assembled from plaster, bones, hides, metal, and polymers—vulnerable remains doomed to decay. But on built-in screens their digital doubles pulse on a loop—like spirits no longer subject to circumstance. At the same time, without electricity, the “inside” of the Beasts disappears, becoming the invisible filling of forms so akin to what we call souls…
Each of the Beasts speaks of inequality in life and universal equality before death, of the irony of chosenness, and of the bitter necessity of evolving when you were not taken onto the ship.
