Katarina Kano is a media artist, 2D animator, and sculptor.

She is a manifestor of phygital art. By "phygital," she does not mean a technological label or a set of tools, but rather a worldview gesture where the fusion of media creates a unified meaning. This is why her practice is built upon the integration of two languages: sculpture and animation. One cannot function without the other: sculptural form without movement remains merely a form, while animation without a physical shell becomes a disembodied ghost. Together, they create a space in which the author performs an act—THE ANIMATION OF THE INANIMATE.

Katarina Kano was a nominee for the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize 2022 and is an annual participant in the Digital Mechanics festival of interactive projects and media art at the Sergey Kuryokhin Center for Contemporary Art. She was also a nominee for the Erarta Prize 2023.

From 2022 to 2026, she is actively participating in media art exhibitions and festivals, as well as various other international and Russian projects.
